Abstract:   The 2016 ISC Workshop on International Cooperation is an important forum that brings together leaders of the world-wide supercomputing community to foster collaboration through the exchange of accomplishments, resource innovations, and leadership goals and objectives. Continuing the tradition of previous such workshops at ISC, this venue will bring together technical contributors, directors, and government representatives spanning five continents to build an emerging cohesive consensus about HPC challenges, directions, opportunities towards sharing of means and methods, and open issues yet to be addressed internationally. The full day workshop will combine a series of presentations from key leaders in the field representing their respective nations’ requirements, goals, accomplishments over the last year, and immediate plans. Short talks will be provided by additional invited speakers to answer focused questions that together will convey global consensus. A new session will be included this year and moderated by co-chair Jim Ang on open hardware as a potential opportunity to accelerate diversity and innovation in HPC. A fast paced panel will be moderated by co-chair Pete Beckman to consider roles towards exascale and to stimulate audience participation. The results of this significant workshop will be an action list for future international collaboration.

Targeted Audience
The targeted audience includes a broad set of experts, practitioners, leaders, and students with a strong appeal to the international community including the developing nations in Asia and the Southern Hemisphere who are often overlooked at other ISC events.
